My Latest fascination- Fascinators

Oh these are sooo lovely!! I love fascinators, they are just so chique. Inspired by this post from A Cup of Jo, I found this site that sells them. Most of the fascinator sites out there, however, are British. We NEED to adopt this tradition in our country!

I've been looking at baby stuff alot lately, mostly because of my beautiful little nephew. I found these beautiful little wooden retro bikes on this website. They are just too cute.

Bath in a Bucket!

At first, I just thought this was hilarious!!! bathing a baby in a bucket! but actually it is very cost effective, the bucket is cute and cheap and you save tons of water! Hurray for bathing buckets! (they're actually called washpods)

Blogging Through Class

hmm.... so yes I'm in the middle of a geriatrics class, but it just occurred to me that I've been blogging now for about a month and a half and I really havent said anything about who I am! So here's alittle info on myself just incase anyone's reading and curious:

My name is Rebeca (not babbi- my beautiful little nephew calls me babbi) I was born in Recife, Brazil a beautiful tropical city full of amazing beaches. We migrated to the US when I was 5 years old to Miami, and I've been here ever since. I LOVE miami!! Beautiful weather, gorgeous beaches, lots of diversity and culture! I love everything about it. I am the middle child (older sister and younger brother). I am currently 24 but my b-day is right around the corner!!! I went to winston park and Kenwood elementary, Glades Middle, Miami Killian senior high and graduated from Greater Miami Academy, I have a bachelors in health sciences and will graduate in August 2009 with a doctorate in physical therapy. I go to church every Saturday (I am a seventh day adventist) and that is a big part of my life. I have the most amazing, smart, kind, beautiful boyfriend ever- Mikey who is also brazilian and completes me in every way. And who lives too far (fort Lauderdale ~40 minutes away). I also have a beautiful nephew- Noah, who is stuck to me. Children in general congregate around me and I love them dearly. I am chronically happy, kinda childish, and love pretty things, good ideas and pretty places...

hm... I guess everything else will be revealed through my posts! thanks for reading!

Look what I found at Barnes n Nobles yesterday in Miracle Mile!!! It's the Jane Austen complete novels- LEATHERBOUND! Oh it's just beautiful...too bad I already have the paperback and Mikey wouldn't buy me another one :( Get if for yourselves if you do not have it already. I mean do it quick! here! It's only $16!!!

Dave Matthews Band Tickets

Ana and Suzy Wedding

The groom actually made the structure. Ana and Suzy covered it with beautiful orange flowers and pearls. It was stunning- the pictures are not doing it justice (the only ones I could find).

My plans: have a hot dog (veggie of course), go to the pool, light some sparklers, and watch the fireworks at my cousins apartment (she's got a great view). Have a safe holiday everyone!

Tea Cup of the Future

I was doing a search on tea cups (I know, but I love them!!!) and I stumbled upon this freagin AWESOME tea cup from Bodum on this site!!! Apparently the outside of the cup never gets hot cause the beverage is held on the inside cup! genius! and it looks very cool!! I want! 

Pics from the Trip

Our trip was great! We left Thursday and went straight to the outlet mall. Then Friday we went to Magic Kingdom. Saturday we went to church and hit up Wal-mart for some necessities and some goodies. Then Sunday we hit up the outlets again and the Mall at the Millenia (which is fabulous by the way).

Vegan Spread Recipe

I made this recipe with my cousin and it was amazing!!! Ok so ur probably going to have to go out and buy these ingredients (some of which I was unaware existed) but the end result is great and very healthy!

1/4 cup onion, diced

1 TBS olive oil

1/4 cup nutritional yeast

3 TBS rolled oats

1 TBS tahini

2 TBS arrowroot

2 TBS lemon juice

1/2 tsp sea salt

Saute onion in olive oil until browned. Place onions in blender. Add remaining ingredients. Process until smooth.

Pour into sauce pan. Cook over medium heat. Stir constantly until very thick. Enjoy with wheat toast or pita :)
