Curious Happenings

This weekend I did everything I said I would except get Fe's invitations (I will keep looking today). The petting zoo was great! My brother actually works at PInecrest Gardens (which is BEAUTIFUL) so we went there and enjoyed the animals, the gardens and the splash pad! I also visited a dear friends i've known since 2nd grade and hadn't seen in a while which was great too!

About Registering for gifts..OMG i had no idea! in one word it was ...overwhelming. So many choices! how do we know what'll match with our house since we don't know what our house will look like?? what's safe to cook in?? do we really need a gravy boat? AAAHHH so i deleted everything i had done on sunday and started over online yesterday. The list is coming along.

And then yesterday the most extraordinary thing-I over slept (which isn't all that unusual) and thought I had missed school then I got 3 texts telling me class was cancelled!!!! don't u love when that happens???

Anyways I have a dermatology appointment today. Looking forward to some samples :)

My thursday night

I just watched You Got Mail for like the millionth time!! (mikey bought me a copy) I love that movie!! I don't know why! am I alone?? serioulsy go watch this movie again, it is just lovely. Maybe it's because it's set in New York (and i love NYC), or maybe because It reminds me of how me n mikey got started (we didn't meet online but we got to know each other alot on AIM), or maybe it's just a great story-and i'm a sucker for great stories... I dunno but i've really watched it over 10x definitely. I'm kinda sick of all this political stuff and all this economy stuff that's on TV. It's disheartening.

Anyways, while I watched the movie I also gave my mom a hair cut and a dye job! haha came out pretty good! guess i'll go blow dry her hair now...i'll post a picture incase anyone's curious...

MOH Dress

I have my maid of Honor dress! i'm so excited! can't wait for the wedding! now i gotta get busy planning Fe's bridal shower! I have some ideas already. Here's what i'm thinking...

I'M ENGAGED!!

It all happened in Las Olas..we went to the beach at night- he had his guitar...we played music, sang and prayed together (I was of course very suspicious- but I thought maybe he was trying to throw me off). Then all of a sudden I heard a clunk inside his guitar! and I was like "oh nooooo what is that!!!" and we both knew what was coming next but he said "he had to do it" and so he did. He got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him- and in one moment he made all my dreams come true. I know everyone must say this, but I really am the happiest woman in the world!

Here comes the good part- i said yes- of course and we hugged and then I go "ok well let's see it!!" and I open the box..and.. NOTHING. So naturally, knowing mikey i assume he's joking and he's gonna take it out of his pocket any minute. But then I see the panic in his face. "I'm so not kidding beca, I'm so not kidding." he starts to look around everywhere. Mind you- on the beach. at night. Luckily we were on a lounge chair, and after searching frantically, he found it dangling on the chair strap -about to fall through the crack!!

and i love it of course, because it's perfect. but most of all because of what it represents, and because he gave it to me.

I've been thinking alot about wedding shoes lately. I love how brides are incorporating color into their wedding with their shoes! I also love the idea of dying your shoe to fit ur needs. These are some of my favorites and are totally dyeable.

WAMU out

Can you believe WAMU has been seized and sold to JPMorgan!? that's just frightening. Where is this economy thing gonna stop! I wonder....Well as an account holder at wamu I have no idea what to do. Should i take my money out? (not that there's much to take out) open an account somewhere else? wait and see what happens??? who knows! Read about what happened here.

Maid of Honor Duties

As maid of honor to my dear friend Fernanda, I've been incharge of helping her choos a bridesmaid dress. A feat harder than I imagined. the wedding is less than 3 months away and still no dress!! Sunday we are going to meet up and choose one for good. (it doesn't help that I live in Miami and she lives in Fort Lauderdale either). Just for fun, here are some silhouettes I love from the Jenny Yoo collection ( a bit out of our price range though).

Vegan Recipe

Some things we don't even thing of as vegan, really are great vegan plates! I just made this cuban yuca with mojo recipe to eat with brown rice, black beans and broccoli. It was delicious!!!
