It's been a while

Hi Blog. It's been a while. But I feel like my life is at a cross roads once again and creeping in is the need to document. Reading through my old posts was so NICE! to read about and relive some of those experiences as a bride to be, a newly wed, moving away from the parents, making new friends! I'm sad I stopped writing in here!

Quick update about my life now a days: I guess it's been 2 years since i wrote in here...in Dec 2009 I accepted a position as a full time Physical Therapist at an outpatient orthopedic, sports facility. I've been there for almost two years which has been WONDERFUL! I love it! So that keeps me pretty busy...Mikey has returned to school and has finished his 1st two years...which is a whole other post- will fill you in soon. My weeks are as follows:

Sunday: relax, beach or go see the fam in MIAMI (BY the way my sister has THREE kids now NOAH, ABBY and the newest addition LUKE was just born April26TH.

Monday: Work, GYM, Mikey has band practice so I hang out at home and catch up on my shows (Modern family or gossip girl- I know I know)

Tuesday: Work, GYM, then Bible study

Wed: work, GYM, hang out with Mikey, maybe movie night.

Thursday: Work, Girls night with the best friends a girl could ask for.

Friday: Work, maybe gym, get ready for the SABBATH.

Saturday: Church (I'm teaching the kindergardeners sabbath school btw so up nice and early), go out at night.

SO there you have it. In a nut shell. Too many things happen in 2 years so I will slowly bring you up to date.

CookOff

I have been entered in a cooking competition! what the eff?!! me? maybe it's cause i'm vegan. anyways. Been thinking about what to make so i'll cream the competition. My pumpkin loaf? my famous vegetable pot pie?? we'll see!

Good joke

Sooo wanna hear something funny? I need an ultrasound to let me know that i have gas! that's right gas!

What happened was, i had been having a nagging pain on my lower left side and naturally, being the hypochondriac that i am, i assumed it was appendicitis. Nope. Gas. Gas is what it was. Thank God!

Studying....

YEs, I'm studying. OR, err trying to study! But all i can think about is making my pumpkin loaf! or how i want to start a photo booth strip album, or how i want to hang a map up and mark all of our destinations on it. Or about how Mikey wants to go to California for film school and how lonely that would be. But of course we would HAVE, absolutely have to go.

I would be thinking about doing my nails but already did :/ OR thinking about updating my blog...err check!

I'm not very good at studying as you can see.... maybe i'll just think about cleaning the kitchen... yeah back to studying...

Almost there

I went to the store today and already christmas is everywhere!!! I was so tempted to splurge on...well everything! Oh how i long for Christmas. By Christmas I will have taken the boards. Hopefully for the first and last time. This test is currently occupying my thoughts, time and draining my energy.

I pray that by this Christmas, it will all be over. That we can all come together as a family and be thankful for the blessings in our lives and together celebrate the birth of our Savior. This Christmas will be our first Christmas as a married couple! Hurray for making new traditions, carrying on old ones and celebration!!!

I did it

Today I scheduled my appointment to take the dreaded boards. I will do this soon. I pray that God will help me pass, for i have neither the nerves nor the funds for such a huge and expensive test. I'm a wreck. My life will now consist of days of studying day and night. and cooking and doing SOME chores in between. Mikey will have to help me- i mean otherwise i would've gotten a prenump. haha j/k

Anyways, back to studying.

Still here

Well, I'm still here. My blog entries have become rare, I know. But here's a quick update-

-I graduated! (still studying to pass the terrible boards)
-Being a wife is freakin AWESOME (though there is so much to do, I am left with very little time)
-I am now an aunt 3 times : Noah's little sister Abigail is now almost 5 months!, and Little Leonardo was born to Mikey's cousin just about 1 months ago.
-I am pretty much settled into my new neighborhood and my new home- will post pictures as we decorate our tiny apartment in our style (so far we've done our room).
-I have become an accomplished bread maker (though my last attempt to make pumpkin spice loaf was a rude awakening).

These days my life basically goes like this: Wake in the middle of the night (~7:30am) when Mikey's going to work so we can pray together before he leaves. Wake up again around 10:20, meet my buddy Jake at starbucks at 11:00 (on a good day that means at least 11:15). Get home around 2:30-3:00 and relax for a few minutes before doing some sort of chore (laundry, scrubbing some pots from the night before. going to publix, cooking, or paying the bills- yes I pay the bills). I try to time it so that the food is ready right as Mikey is getting home but then i'm starving and end up munching, so now I just make it when i get hungry and warm it up for him. Then HE gets home. My favorite part of the day!!!! then I watch him eat. And make him tell me a million times how good the food is. He will eat anything i give him. and say he likes it. I might try something real nasty one day, just to see... anyways. then lately we've had one thing or another to do, people to visit, soap opera's to shoot. But tuesdays is our movie night cause the movie theater by my in laws are 99cent on tuesday! and wednesday while mikey practices with his band I visit my friends.

I'm not gonna say i'll try to write more. Let's just see if it happens.

This weekend we will be out of town. ORLANDOOOO! I have family here fro brazil who absolutely need to go, ad I NEED to take them :D.

Blog, I'm sorry

wow! it's been forever! i miss writing my blog!

so i've been pretty busy, with school and internship. But i am officially done with both and have an entire WEEK! to veg out before starting my next internship!

The light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter! i can't wait to be done!!

So..here's a quick update about my life... I have the best husband in the world! he takes care of me, loves, me makes me laugh, laughs at my stupid jokes, he's brilliant and kind and i am increasingly proud of being able to call him mine! MY sister's about to pop. we had a little false alarm last night where we went to the hospital because my sister wasn't sure whether or not her water had broken....and she still solid so. Oh and the baby's name is going to be Abigail (poor thing just got a name last week). SO maybe abigail will be born on my mom's b-day (the 29th) which would be SWEET!. That pretty much all the excitement in my life right now...

well, and there's my cooking... apparently i'm not half bad! I'm surprising everyone. which i'm not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing. Maybe they just had really low expectations??? anyways today's menu is:

-vegan vegetable pot pie
-roasted sweet potatoes
-brown rice

Look What I Did!

I am loving being a wife! Until recently (when i started working over 10 hour days for free) I was cooking most everyday! and I LOVED it! it's so fun! I wish i could be a house wife (but i didn't spend 7 years in school and thousands of dollars for that). Any ways-

For those who ask when they find out we're vegan- "what the heck do u eat??!!" well here's a prime example! I also love making honey chicken (with vegan mayo and vegan chicken), brown rice, gnocchi, lots of veggies (I have a steamer now!), lots of beans, yum! and soup I LOVE SOUP!!!! well the list goes on! get informed people! hehe

Ups and Downs...But Mostly Ups!

So it's the weekend! yay!!! unfortunately I am studying- yuk!

My pots and pans arrived today at my mom's house! can't wait to see them!!! live and in person! we will be driving down to my beloved MIA today- which I miss so much ( but not nearly as much as I love living with my hubby)! we were gonna stay and have lunch tomorrow at Camila's house which I was so excited about because well, they're newlyweds too and we've never been to their place, but mostly because they're great company and ..oh yeah and she's an amazing cook!! but unfortunately, we found out today that my granny (who came from brazil for the wedding) will be returning on mon! we thought she'd stick around for at least another week. so we gotta spend some time with her.

I miss Noah! so very much!! i can't wait to see him!

So we will stay at my parents this weekend. spend some quality time with the fam. Suck Noah dry of all his wonderful..I guess toddler smell?? and soak up his cuteness!!

I had a dream with my niece last night...(she's not exactly born yet) but she was in my dream and she had a full head of dark hair and a face like an angle! I can't wait to meet her!!!!!

Exciting acquisitions!

I ordered my pots and pans!!! aren't they lovely! After some extensive research- these were a perfect match!! Stainless steal, so no harmful non-stick stuff, aluminum core for even heating, life time warranty, oven safe, and includes a steamer insert!!! I can't wait to have them in my arms!! i've been cooking with a huge wok and a huge martha stewart iron pot (which are both fabulous but not very practical for daily use). I also am the proud new owner of my very own BLOWDRYER!! haha finally! anyways...

Today I'm doing some HW, research, stuyding for 2 finals... :P nauseating stuff really. BUt I have a movie date scheduled for later! so i can't wait.

Other news: I start my 3rd internship in less than 2 weeks!!!! My house is a mess cause i only have a washer so our clothes are hanging everywhere to dry!! but i LOVE IT!

Oh and today is PORRE's birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY PORRE (his real name is JR) (ok that's not his real REAL name but anyways..)

The CAKE

My beautiful cake was from Edda's. The bottom layer was orange, the next one was vanilla rum, the next one chocolate, and the top was our favorite- the orange!! We froze the top to have on our one year anniversary! (PS did u know the frosting is no good after a year but the cake remains intact? and if u take it to the bakery they actually take off the old frosting and refrost ur cake!- that's what I hear anyways...)

What the heck was I saying? OH yeah so Edda's baked the cake and added the ribbon, but the orchids were put on by our very special and talented friend Deise! That made all the difference- it was stunning!!!

The Dress

It was a Vera Wang I purchased at Ever After. I absolutely love it!! The color is amazing- even though I always pictured myself in white, the moment I saw it I fell in love. It was a dark champagny color that went beautifuly with the chocolate brown the bridesmaids were wearing. It had like bows on the side (and i LOVE bows) that were actually vera wang knots (tying the knot- get it) anyways, my grandma made some knots that looked EXACTLY like the ones from my dress and put them on the bouquet!!!

My grandma also made my veil! It was perfect! exactly what i wanted!

Redemption

OK time for a real post i guess! if there's anyone still reading. I guess I'm ready to talk about my wedding now. hehe i just have SO much going on! I LOVE my new life!!! and my HUSBAND ;) !!! anyways, i dunno how i'll get through everything, but gotta start somewhere. Sooooo.... here are some pics of the decor (design by myself, carried out by tia suzy and anna and our lovely friends, oh so many friends who showed us so much loved and helped us so much i don't think i'll EVER be able to pay them back!), my bouquet, the center pieces etc...Enjoy! it's was beautiful!
